The 8th Annual Freedom Run contiues the tradition of running on September 11. We stage our 2008 version in the Dallas City Hall Plaza! This is one event you do not want to miss! Mark your calendar and be a participant in the original 9/11 remembrance run!


Thursday Evening, September 11, 2008
5:00 pm - Late Registration & Packet Pickup
6:30 pm - Opening Ceremonies
6:45 pm - The Carollo Mile
7:00 pm - The Freedom Run 5k
7:30 pm - Freedom festival with live entertainment


There will be plenty of parking in the parking lots near city Hall and in the city underground lots, Parking fees vary from $3 and up.

In addition to The Freedom Run 5k, there will be a one-mile walk in honor of Bill Carollo, the late founder and director of the Dallas Assist the Officer Foundation.


We will recognize the top overall and masters, male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in the 5k only in the following age groups.

T-shirts:

All entrants qualify for a special Freedom Run T-shirt with their entry.

The Freedom Run will offer chip timing. Runners must pick up their loaner chip event evening to be eligible for awards and to be listed in the race results. Those using chip timing will be required to return the chip at the end of the event. Awards will be based on gun time.
 
The Southwestern Association of USA Track and Field 2008 Long Distance Running Series!
The Freedom Run is part of the Southwestern Association of USA Track and Field 2008 Long Distance Running Series.The prize purse will include age group winners.
